Steve Madden Announces Continuation of Stock Repurchase Program

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., May 26, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Steve Madden (Nasdaq: SHOO), a leading designer and marketer of fashion footwear and accessories for women, men and children, today announced that its Board of Directors had approved a continuation of its stock repurchase program for up to an additional $50 million in repurchases of the Company's common stock. Repurchases will be made from time to time on the open market at prevailing market prices or in privately negotiated transactions at the Company's discretion, subject to market conditions and other factors, and will be funded from existing cash. Any shares repurchased initially will be held as treasury shares and may be used in connection with the Company's stock incentive plan and for other general corporate purposes, including acquisitions.
